I am Patty Boge, Principal Professional Photographer of OFF THE PAGE PHOTOGRAPHY, born in Brazil, and living in Canada since 1990.

I photographed my first Wedding in 1995 and a couple of years passed before I turned photography into my full time profession, yet I'll never forget that very first day.  How I felt so incredibly nervous and worried that nothing would turn out or that the client wouldn't be happy.

I remember her getting ready, the emotion of the ceremony, the laughter of the kids in the Wedding Party and the immense love between the two of them.  When I got the Images back, I couldn't help feeling as though I had stumbled upon pieces of a fairytale... Like I could almost hear the voices of the characters and feel their emotion.

I was hooked. I knew that I had to keep looking through that lens and keep looking for those stories with every chance that I got.

When I look through my parent's old albums, my childhood pictures growing up in Brazil, I am so thankful to my dad, who loved his camera, who loved photographing absolutely everything.  Through those pictures that he took, I'm able to go back in time, to the scents and sounds of that place and of the people that I left there.  Truth is, many of them are no longer there and when I visit, things are so incredibly different, but I know that I can always go back to those books.  In there, I see my childhood like a fairytale told through the eyes of my dad.

In there, I'm inspired to do the same for my kids, my family and for all who cross my path.
