Oh, they're in love and sooo gorgeous!

I know you think I say that to everyone. But aren't they?

Sylvie lives out in St Pierre and I was so happy when she told me that she wanted to do her engagement pictures out there.  I love going to new places, specially out in the country, in the fall.  Lucky for them we're having a long, warm fall... And lucky for me, they're photogenic and amazing to work with.

Thanks guys, can't wait till the wedding!

I call these "Dancing in the Light"...

Chris was bent on swinging higher than Sylvie...  Sometimes I got a shot like this:

But most of the shots were like this: ;)

Technically, this wasn't in Winnipeg.  Just outside Winnipeg, past Headingley, in a gorgeous park with trails and trees and water...

I'm such a romantic.  But so are these two!  Leanora and Jared chose me to photograph their wedding next year and I'm thinking we'll have a blast and as a bonus end up with amazing images!  Leanora HAS to be a supermodel in her spare time... I'm sure of it!  And Jared, though you're not so bad yourself, you are definitely one lucky man!

There's been a serious surge of very gorgeous people in my studio!  I know you're saying that I ALWAYS say that, but look!!!  Again!

When she first walked in, tall, and absolutely gorgeous, I thought to myself, there better be a very gorgeous man on the other end of this engagement!  I met him the following week and voila!  He's gorgeous too!

Though we didn't have a sunny day, the fall leaves seemed to have yellowed with super incredibly intensity overnight!

It's just as well... the leaves were no match for these bright sunshiny faces!

    Ooooh, the love!

Aren't these amazing?  The next two just blew me away... So romantic!

Thank you Jennifer and Dave, for choosing me!  Can't wait till April!

She's gorgeous, sweet and she called me a jewel... How could I not love her?  I had never met Anthony until the engagement session, but I knew he must have been something special to capture her attention.

I think we must have had the last sunny day of the fall when we met for these pictures.

    Aren't they wonderful?

Anthony loves the outdoors, so off we went to the middle of the bush!

It was truly beautiful out there!

I always say that a little flare has never hurt anyone...

Thanks you two!  I can't wait for your wedding!

Back in the warm nights of the fall (just last week), I got to go out and enjoy some amazing scenery with one of my colleagues and future brides, Vanessa.  I'm truly honored when another photographer chooses me to photograph their wedding!

Colin just got accepted into the Police Academy and is graduating the night before the wedding! He actually had to book off his own wedding day!  Well, Colin, good job on getting in and have a great time studying through the winter!  Just think: when it warms up, you'll be finished school and married, all within 24 hours!

Here's some of the amazing shots we got.  You gotta love sunsets in the prairies.

Hello!!! I'm still here.... I had to keep reminding them of that... Gotta love it!

Oat fields.  I now have a new prairie love.  Who knew...

    Vanessa, you're so beautiful!

A small warning to you: I went a little overboard on the silhouette shots.

I love how this shot is out of focus...

    Again...

Colin found us this crazy old structure that used to be a barn and got blown by the winds this spring:

And we finally let Roxy come out to play:

Thank you Colin and Vanessa! Can't wait till May!

I'm doing Tamara & Colin's wedding this fall (coming soon you guys!) and I can't wait!  Ukrainian Food mixed with French traditions, and this time I get to stay for the reception too!  We had some time to get together and do their engagement pictures before the big day and it was delightful!

We met and Colin and Tamara's recently purchased home - their first home together.  Tamara is a journalist and this makes for a great story, doesn't it?

Well, wait till you see the shots!

Actually, no, don't wait!  Here they are! They were having a backyard picnic when I arrived... sipping on wine that they had been saving for a year, for this occasion! A toast to their first home together!

I just love their backyard! Hey guys, let's skip all our planned locations for the wedding and just hang back at your place! ;)

    I love the red door!

After all of this front-yard snuggling, we headed out to St Francis Xavier, and found a wheat field.  At this point, their stories intertwine: He's a country boy, and she's a city girl, but she's Ukrainian, so wheat means good luck for the couple on their wedding!  Isn't that sweet?

Here's some prairie skies for you, Tamara!

Sunflower fields and silhouettes  to end the day!

Thanks  Tamara and Colin for asking me to do these!  The wedding day will be a blast!

Their Wedding is coming up soon, so I won't waste your time with their whole story, but I'll say this: I love Alison and I love her mom!!!  We met at my place after I did her friends wedding (thank you Melodie & TJ) last year and she booked me nearly on the spot.

I'm excited to have finally met you Colter, and I'm excited that after 10 years together, you two are tying the knot...

I'm looking forward to being there and having a blast!

For their engagement session, Alison & Colter chose King's Park - where they take their dog, Charlie, for walks all the time.  Isn't it beautiful?

Can't wait till next week, guys!

She tortures me on a regular basis, yet, I just love her...  She pushes me till I am bruised and can hardly walk... Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, but she IS my massage therapist and I guess the old saying "no pain, no gain", holds true in this case.

All kidding aside, truth is, with the weight of my equipment and the beating that my body takes doing this job, I just can't live without her!!!

So, when she asked me to photograph her wedding to the love of her life, I could only say: YES!!!

I'm so glad she came up to Lac Du Bonnet for her session... I love shooting out there!  The water is so gorgeous, and the surroundings so beautiful!  Thanks Chantel, for picking me.  Your wedding will be beautiful and I can hardly wait!

Now, onto some of the images.  (By the way, thank you Paul for putting up with me and for listening to my ideas! Trust me, we'll have loads of fun on your wedding!)

     Awww, so sweet...

     I love this one:

Now, this is the Chantel I know...

And I'm sure Mom will like this one:

And what's country shots without a little fun in the Canola fields?

We finished up in the weeds...

Thanks again Chantel and Paul for picking me!

Enjoy your summer and get ready for me in the fall!

I'll never forget the day when Kathleen and Justin hired me to do their wedding... For many reasons that will remain unknown to all of you who weren't there at the time... But also for the following reason:

It was raining cats and dogs that day and I had two consultations for July 25, 2009...  But Justin and Kathleen, along with their troops (mom and sister) snuck in before them and hired me on the spot... We had an immediate connection and passion... and the rest is history...

I am so blessed by the clients that I have.  I'm such a hopeless romantic that I believe everyone that chooses me, was meant to be. Was meant to come into my life and forever impact it, change it...

So last night, the three of us headed out towards Headingley because Kathleen wanted Blue Prairie Skies in her pictures.  She loves blue skies and she loves just how flat and vast everything is around here (did I tell you she's crazy???), unlike her previous home in Ontario, where it's all hilly... Hmmm...

We talked the whole way there, then we talked the whole way back about life, religion, love, passion, you name it!  I have a feeling that these two came into my life to stay (I have a knack for picking clients like that!).

Then on the way back I taught them a little Winnipeg lesson about the best sushi in town (Asahi) and we were all happy!

Enough talking now... Here are the images:

Before we look at these next few images, I need to tell you that I'm not the kind of photographer that likes to take you to places that you're uncomfortable with or that in no way, reflect who you are...

Having said that, we did go onto some train-tracks out of  town... Reason?  None really... They just looked pretty... Oh, and Kathleen's home town had a train running through it.

Just like any other town, I suppose...

How's this for Blue Prairie Skies, Kathleen?

And don't you just love Dandelion/Mosquito season?

Thank you Kathleen and Justin, for spending a nice summer evening with me. I can't wait to photograph your wedding!   You two are so in love, it's catchy... and I'm happy I got to see that and I'm happy that you had a nice relaxing evening enjoying each other, even though I was there the whole time! ;)

    See you guys again soon!

Matt & Amanda are one of those couples that make you want to be a wedding crasher...  Not in the way you saw in the movie, but in a way that you just HAVE to be there and see them say their vows, do their dance, say their speeches... and watch them mill about and love la-di-da all day!

Or maybe that's just me... I'm LOVE addict... That's why no matter how little sleep I get, or how many weekends I work, I love love LOVE my job!!

When we met the first time, it was over the phone and I just fell in love with Amanda...  But I had no idea that I'd fall in love with Matt too!  (no, not THAT way, silly), just a little couple crush and jealousy of how cute they are together and just how crazy in love they are... Let's just say  I never had to coach them to get closer, cuddle or kiss... It just happened.  All I had to do was meter, compose and shoot!

Thanks you two, I can hardly wait till your wedding!

I like to call this image: "No Line on the Horizon", I'm so darn creative!

We found these chairs in Matt's mom's yard... Don't you just love them?  I think you guys should bring these to your wedding!

In case you're wondering why I didn't touch up Matt's scar, it's because he didn't ask!  And he actually told me he doesn't mind it.  Why fix what isn't broken?

    I just LOVE this shot!

Here, Matt is trying to be all GQ, just like Amanda!

Ahhh, what a great day that was!

    Congratulations guys!!!
