What's Patty up to?

Ok, not "Gangsters" but pretty darn close.

They travel in packs wherever the roads may take them. They haven't got a worry in the world (no worries that are large enough to cramp their style anyway).  And if the road is paved, they're on it.

So when my mother in law, Hildi, asked me to photograph them, I was happy to oblige.  After all, we'll never be able to repay the amount of help they give us, babysitting the girls when my husband and I decide to go globetrotting.

However, here's what I wasn't prepared for: the smooching.

I'm not stupid, I know they smooch.  But I warn you if you're part of my family: there's a whole lotta smooching going on here.  If you can't handle it (Robert), then don't look.

In any case, enough talking for now:

    Hello!

    I just love this one:

    And there you go:

Dad requested this one, and I love how he just stood there admiring his beauty and his beast.

     Nice!

Now, can you believe her?  Hot stuff eh?

Dad, you need this one for your office!  A big huge copy of it.

Now, this is what I was talking about.  Usually I have to ask my couples to do this.  For them, I had to ask them to please STOP doing it!

I just ABSOLUTELY love this one:

Mom asked me to do something to this effect:

Dad wanted his hog all alone for a shot:

    A nicely behaved one:

Thanks Mom and Dad for letting me capture you two in 2009.  Looking great and loving each other just as much if not more than ever.

It's great to see, even if it grosses me out a little!

    Much love!

Here's Rhylee's Video-Fusion!  To download this video and watch it over and over and over on your computer, just go here to my iTunes store!

Rhylee - Senior High School Photography from Patty Boge on Vimeo.

Truth is: there's nothing "senior" about her, other than the fact that she's in Grade 12.  Rhylee is the daughter of one of my absolutely favorite clients and Real Estate Agents, Donna Kirsch.  Donna and I have been planning this session for so long, I think Rhylee was still in diapers! (oh, the exaggeration! Not diapers, but for sure still in grade 9!)

The day came for us to do this and as we were driving with Donna to the different locations we decided that there's so much more we want to do yet, this is merely part one!

I am usually pretty assertive (a nice word for bossy) regarding posing and candid shots and ideas, but I was no match for Rhylee's incredible ease in front of the camera.  All I did was point and click and have a good time.  I am convinced that Rhylee watches "America's Next Top Model" religiously and memorizes every move!

    Here's some of the images.

One of the things I love about Rhylee's mom is that she's thoughtful and imaginative.  In Grade 6, Rhylee helped to raise money for Cinder, a police dog to get her bullet proof vest.  So, to surprise her, Donna tracked down Cinder and got her trainer, Rob, to bring her to the park so Rhylee could get some shots with her.

We were shooting in the park when Donna comes over and tells Rhylee that a man agreed to let her take some pictures with his dog.  Rhylee loves dogs, so she was super pumped.  Then she noticed that the dog had a Police vest.  She asked the dog's name and when Rob answered that her name was Cinder, the look on Rhylee's face was like that of a kid that has just been told her daddy owns the candy store!

There was no high school senior there at that moment.  Just a little kid and her dog...

Rhylee, you are a beautiful girl.  Never ever change.

Donna, you're absolutely wonderful and an amazing client.  Love ya!

Let's do this again when you get your prom dress honey!

Their Wedding is coming up soon, so I won't waste your time with their whole story, but I'll say this: I love Alison and I love her mom!!!  We met at my place after I did her friends wedding (thank you Melodie & TJ) last year and she booked me nearly on the spot.

I'm excited to have finally met you Colter, and I'm excited that after 10 years together, you two are tying the knot...

I'm looking forward to being there and having a blast!

For their engagement session, Alison & Colter chose King's Park - where they take their dog, Charlie, for walks all the time.  Isn't it beautiful?

Can't wait till next week, guys!

You have no idea how happy I was to photograph this little bundle of joy... Well, she's not that little anymore (1 month old) but sure is a bundle of joy!  I'm sure her parents would beg to differ if you asked them in the middle of the night...

But here she is and we are so happy for you Mark and Monika, that she arrived!

You two have been an important part of our lives and have been there from the first day I joined this crazy Boge family (though some would say crazy is as crazy does - or it takes one to know one, yada yada...)

Thank you for all the sushi nights, and spirited talks and encouragement through the years!

Blessings on you as you parent and grow with Little Miss Sunshine here!

    Love you!

    Oh, pictures?  Sure!!!

See Mark?  I can even make YOU look good!

Just you look at these blue eyes!!

    Thanks again guys!

Let's do it again soon! (and order some sushi right after that!)

Last weekend Jascha and I and our neighbors headed out to Boissevain to pick up some perennials, drop off some 1/4 down.... you know, the usual stuff you do in Boissevain (???)

Nanci and Steve have these great friends out there who we've heard about since the first day they moved in next door (pretty much), so we were super excited to see their place.

When we got out there, I could hardly believe my eyes!!!  I never knew there were hills this close to the flatlands!!! Why didn't anybody tell me that? You've all been keeping me prisoner here in the prairies, with this beautifully hilly town just 3 hours away!!! I've been here so long, I almost got vertigo going down those hills!

In any case, our time there was fantastic and I would like to thank Merle and Marilyn for their incredible hospitality by posting these.

Thank you thank you thank you!  My garden will be beautiful and it'll have a story to tell.

    Here's some images:

    The view from our room:

     A little treat:

One of my favorite features of their home:

    Their AMAZING vegetable garden!

    Supper on the fire:

Bison, Chicken and Venison.  Brazilian style!!!

     Some of the views:

Guys, you've raised the bar on hospitality and good times!  Thank you and let's do it again!

We go way back... Way Way back...

I've known these guys for over 12 years!  They got married before we did, and we were in the same band together in church for a while. And I JUST SIMPLY LOVE THEM!

They are such awesome giving people and I can't say enough great things about them.  I love getting your phone calls for family pictures Mel, and I hope that I can always capture your life together.

Here's some images for you to enjoy! Notice the little Chloe poser on the right.

    I love this shot:

    And this series:

These three are quite possibly the MOST BEHAVED children on the face of the planet!

Little Bart is the only one I had never met before... We were instant best friends though:

And I photographed Chloe for her baby announcement cards.  Has she ever grown! Mel, has she been watching America's Next Top Model???

And my sweet little Addy!  Oh girl, you're all kindness!!

    Grandkids and Grandparents:

Melanie's brother and his wife and sweet little Isabella!

Phyllis and Bart: always having fun for the camera (I have a feeling they have fun off camera too!)

    And my friends:

Thanks again you guys!  Let's do it again!

I love working with "The Rock N' Roll Preacher", Greg Glatz!  I met Greg while doing a photoshoot for the radio show hosts of Godtalk back in the day of Family Life Network.  I had the opportunity to do some shots for Greg's inner city ministries and we've been in touch over facebook and twitter... you know how it goes... It feels like you know what's going on in someone's life, even though you don't really see them all the time...

What I didn't know though is that Greg has taken over GodTalk on CJOB 68 with a new co-host, Marlo Boux! I tell ya, I listened to the podcast this week and I was really amazed at how "edgy" the show is! Indredible!  Good job at getting people to listen and be involved.

If you're reading this and you've never stopped to check it out, then you should!  It'll make you think!

Enough talking, time for some images. (ok, just a little more talking... I love seeing how interactive people get once they get used to my bazooka lens pointing at them...)

    Here's Marlo:

Like I said, they kinda forgot I was there...

Here's how Greg really feels about feisty Marlo!

They were "tweeting" during the shoot:

    Blackberry or iPhone?

Here's Mr Rock N' Roll Preacha!

And let me tell you, video would NOT kill THIS Radio Star!

Greg took a picture of me taking a picture of him (with his iPhone)

Thanks guys for letting me be part of this work that you do.  It's truly an honour!

Godspeed to you as you break through the walls of doubt in the airwaves.

It was a long drive to The Narrows last week... But it was a nice prairie summer day, nice roads, and I had Ira Glass with me, which really... if you don't listen to Ira, you don't know what you're missing...

And not to mention I had a lot to look forward to.  I was going to meet Karen's extended family for the first time as they vacationed at The Narrows Lake, about 2 hours North of Winnipeg.  The place was stunning and the family was so incredibly warm and fun... And they fed me this incredible chicken salad, quiche, cake, coffee... You guys can invite me to your family gatherings anytime!

Here's some images from that day:

Bruce and Carol with their grandchildren:

    The whole family:

They had seen this on my website and wanted that as a memory of their time together at the lake:

I loved how Carol said that she wanted a shot of the girls running towards the tree... It was their favorite activity everyday out there.

Here's the gorgeous couple that started it all.

Some more of the individual families:

    And the kids shots:

Karen's family wanted some extra shots, so here they are:

    And here's man's best friend:

Thank you all for inviting me to be a part of this celebration!  Keep in touch and let's do this again!

She tortures me on a regular basis, yet, I just love her...  She pushes me till I am bruised and can hardly walk... Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, but she IS my massage therapist and I guess the old saying "no pain, no gain", holds true in this case.

All kidding aside, truth is, with the weight of my equipment and the beating that my body takes doing this job, I just can't live without her!!!

So, when she asked me to photograph her wedding to the love of her life, I could only say: YES!!!

I'm so glad she came up to Lac Du Bonnet for her session... I love shooting out there!  The water is so gorgeous, and the surroundings so beautiful!  Thanks Chantel, for picking me.  Your wedding will be beautiful and I can hardly wait!

Now, onto some of the images.  (By the way, thank you Paul for putting up with me and for listening to my ideas! Trust me, we'll have loads of fun on your wedding!)

     Awww, so sweet...

     I love this one:

Now, this is the Chantel I know...

And I'm sure Mom will like this one:

And what's country shots without a little fun in the Canola fields?

We finished up in the weeds...

Thanks again Chantel and Paul for picking me!

Enjoy your summer and get ready for me in the fall!

When Sher called me and told me that she was referred by one of my long time clients, Charisse, I was thrilled!  I love referrals because not only does it mean that the client who referred had a good time with me and was happy with the results, but it also means that the new client has seen my work and knows what to expect.  It's a win-win and it's sure to be fun!

So, on Canada Day, we planned to meet at St Vital Park and the weather was absolutely perfect! I also just about fell over when I saw Sher and Gordon's girls!  They are so incredibly gorgeous that they should be on the cover of a magazine.

Well, girls, I'm no magazine, but you're surely on my Blog Cover today!

Thank you for choosing me and I look forward to working with you guys in the future (petty please?!?)

We started with some sunny traditional shots:

And here's the recipe for good looking (gorgeous) kids:

    Don't you just love these?

And sorry girls, Tynessa gets an extra shot, but she's the youngest, so, I'm sorry...

Here's when Tynessa relaxed and started showing me some attitude!

Ok, did I tell you girls that I have a very cute, single, 26-year old brother????  No pressure, just throwing it out there...

Daddy's girls: (man, where do you keep that shotgun???)

    Shoes!!!

    Mom's girls:

Then the girls had to have a jumping shot! Yay!

Thanks so much guys, this was a blast!  These are just a few of MANY shots taken that day!  You guys are a lot of fun and a wonderful family!  All the best in all your endeavours!
