Oh, what a cutie! I love it when my clients call me right away within the first two weeks of babies being born... They never look like this again, so it's so good to capture it all.

Sydney (the dog) couldn't come to the studio today, so baby got all the attention.  And what a cutie he is!  Rob says he'll get into soccer lessons as soon as he can walk!  Right Rob?

Here's some cute images of the little guy and his family...

No better place to be, eh Grayson?

    I love these:

We were trying to get him with his eyes open and this was all we could do for a while...

Thank you for bringing by this wonderful little guy.  I look forward to getting to know him over the next few years.

This past week was one of those weeks where I got to reconnect with a lot of my past wedding clients.  I love it when that happens... Babies, babies everywhere!

Here's my beautiful Melodie and TJ with sweet little Kylie...

    Hot stuff, Melodie!

    I love these next few...

I simply love these next few too...

Thanks for keeping in touch, guys!  Let's do this again!

My friend Sam - whom I've known forever (we were roommates back when we lived in Toronto) asked me to try this new thing... a photo shoot with her friend Justine for The Lifestyle Pass.  If you don't have the Lifestyle pass, you need one!  It's the reason I try out so many healthy living choices in Winnipeg for free! Check it out here.

This is a quick video of some of the images we got.  Sam directed the shoot, Justine acted it out beautifully and all I had to do was point my camera at her... I kid you not!  The idea was to portray someone living life to the fullest.  I think the song is just perfect!

The only thing better than photographing someone's wedding, is becoming their lifelong photographer.  Though this hardly qualifies as life-long (only 3 years after their wedding), I'm honoured that when it came time to record life as it is, before their first baby, Natalie and Rob asked me to be the one to do that.

They brought Sidney along and we had a lovely morning at the park - plus or minus a few hundred mosquitoes.

Natalie, you look beautiful!  Your child will be happy you recorded this moment.

We tried to keep things very casual as rule #1 for Natalie and Rob is NO POSING!  I love it!

Thank you Natalie and Rob for the call.  I'll be seeing you all plus one in a few weeks.  Can't wait!

Please tell me it's ok to have a crush on your wedding couples.  I have a mini-crush on these two: so sweet and so in love and so very good looking!

They asked me to go out to their property in Headingley and bring mosquito spray!  I did and I swear I had to "refresh" the mosquito spray (not really, but just about!);  the skeeters were out with a vengeance but they were no match for Sharyn and Cary.

I'm excited for the wedding in September, guys.  It'll be absolutely beautiful!

Their dog was in on the fun...

    Their backyard is beautiful!

    Train tracks behind their property:

Thanks Sharyn and Cary for inviting me to your home.  Your wedding will be gorgeous!

Amy & Kent come to me via one of my favorite people on the planet, my friend Michelle - who no matter what, always patiently spends one day on the ski hill with me in Steamboat - during our family trips.  This year though she didn't want to do the "bikini" run, but it's ok Michelle, there's always next year.

I had met Kent years ago at Michelle's New Year's parties, but when I had heard that he had met and married this gorgeous american girl, I couldn't wait to meet her!  Not only is she gorgeous, she's sweet as pie and a wonderful mother.

So it's only fitting that for mother's day I do a post of a baby session.  Olyvia is only 3 weeks old and already has a sweet little personality.

For the very first frame, I must have said something funny.   But as I'm always saying something funny, I don't really remember what it was, however the reaction is awesome!

    Now a more civilized version:

    Now, isn't this soooo sweet?

    Then a little purple-ness:

    More personality:

    With daddy:

I love the following series... the little tongue gets me everytime!

Happy Mother's day to Amy, and to my moms (Wiens and Boge) and all moms  out there who make a sacrifice every day to be more, give more and live more for their kids.

A couple of years ago I met Adam while sharing workspace with the fabulous Yoko Chapman.  He would come in and fix all of her printing issues, while telling us his great adventures.  We always liked "Adam" days.  He was always so animated, knowledgeable and fun to hang out with.  Not to mention incredibly cute! Hello!

Well, during one of these visits we learned that Mr Printer Fixer had plans for the very near future, and these plans included a gorgeous young lady called Jodi, some tropical destination and an engagement ring.

I don't have to tell you that when I found out that I was also part of this plan - not the tropical destination part - but the actual wedding day part, I was super excited.

Adam, I'm glad that you and Jodi have asked me to photograph you two on your wedding day.  It'll be gorgeous and glorious and we'll definitely ROCK it!  Not quite rockin' in like GNR, but close!

Here's a couple of shots.  The bottom one is the GNR T-shirts.  Apparently their friends find it funny that they like the band... I don't think it's funny, but ok.

If you want to see more of the session, please join me on my Facebook Fan Page.  While you're there make sure to add me as your friend, join my group, sing my song, you get the point.  Click here

Ok, not "Gangsters" but pretty darn close.

They travel in packs wherever the roads may take them. They haven't got a worry in the world (no worries that are large enough to cramp their style anyway).  And if the road is paved, they're on it.

So when my mother in law, Hildi, asked me to photograph them, I was happy to oblige.  After all, we'll never be able to repay the amount of help they give us, babysitting the girls when my husband and I decide to go globetrotting.

However, here's what I wasn't prepared for: the smooching.

I'm not stupid, I know they smooch.  But I warn you if you're part of my family: there's a whole lotta smooching going on here.  If you can't handle it (Robert), then don't look.

In any case, enough talking for now:

    Hello!

    I just love this one:

    And there you go:

Dad requested this one, and I love how he just stood there admiring his beauty and his beast.

     Nice!

Now, can you believe her?  Hot stuff eh?

Dad, you need this one for your office!  A big huge copy of it.

Now, this is what I was talking about.  Usually I have to ask my couples to do this.  For them, I had to ask them to please STOP doing it!

I just ABSOLUTELY love this one:

Mom asked me to do something to this effect:

Dad wanted his hog all alone for a shot:

    A nicely behaved one:

Thanks Mom and Dad for letting me capture you two in 2009.  Looking great and loving each other just as much if not more than ever.

It's great to see, even if it grosses me out a little!

    Much love!

Last week, my friend Trevor and I went out to Kildonan Park to exchange family pictures.  See, that's one of the perks that we have as photographers.  The thing is, I didn't start taking advantage of it until last year...  Too bad!  With the amount of photographer friends I have, I should be able to have new family pictures every week!  Go to his blog here and check out the fantastic job that he did on our family pictures.  Of course it helps that I have a very gorgeous family...

Trevor's little family is absolutely adorable.  Lois is gorgeous (read hot!) and Ryder is the cutest little guy you've ever seen... and of course, Trevor cleans up nicely.

Trevor and Lois, I love doing this for you.  You have taught me that we must capture every moment, every stage, every laughter and every little tear... One must not take life for granted or lightly.

I hope I captured you well... Can't wait to do it again... We will be in need of family pictures in February, in Brazil.  Wanna come?

I like how I covered Trevor's face in this shot... nice...

And yes, I know this one is blurry, but there's something about it that I just love...

Here's Rhylee's Video-Fusion!  To download this video and watch it over and over and over on your computer, just go here to my iTunes store!

Rhylee - Senior High School Photography from Patty Boge on Vimeo.

Truth is: there's nothing "senior" about her, other than the fact that she's in Grade 12.  Rhylee is the daughter of one of my absolutely favorite clients and Real Estate Agents, Donna Kirsch.  Donna and I have been planning this session for so long, I think Rhylee was still in diapers! (oh, the exaggeration! Not diapers, but for sure still in grade 9!)

The day came for us to do this and as we were driving with Donna to the different locations we decided that there's so much more we want to do yet, this is merely part one!

I am usually pretty assertive (a nice word for bossy) regarding posing and candid shots and ideas, but I was no match for Rhylee's incredible ease in front of the camera.  All I did was point and click and have a good time.  I am convinced that Rhylee watches "America's Next Top Model" religiously and memorizes every move!

    Here's some of the images.

One of the things I love about Rhylee's mom is that she's thoughtful and imaginative.  In Grade 6, Rhylee helped to raise money for Cinder, a police dog to get her bullet proof vest.  So, to surprise her, Donna tracked down Cinder and got her trainer, Rob, to bring her to the park so Rhylee could get some shots with her.

We were shooting in the park when Donna comes over and tells Rhylee that a man agreed to let her take some pictures with his dog.  Rhylee loves dogs, so she was super pumped.  Then she noticed that the dog had a Police vest.  She asked the dog's name and when Rob answered that her name was Cinder, the look on Rhylee's face was like that of a kid that has just been told her daddy owns the candy store!

There was no high school senior there at that moment.  Just a little kid and her dog...

Rhylee, you are a beautiful girl.  Never ever change.

Donna, you're absolutely wonderful and an amazing client.  Love ya!

Let's do this again when you get your prom dress honey!
